About Third Season

Third Season is a full service design studio and retail store that works with locally sourced flowers including those grown on Chicago roofs by The Roof Crop.

The Roof Crop currently grows specialty cut flowers on 15 properties. The Roof Crop is known for responsibly grown dahlias, but grow a range of seasonal curated and native blooms, and sell to some of Chicago's premiere florists.

At the Third Season design studio, we offer unique, hands-on experiences for all skill levels — guided by makers, artists, and craftspersons who invite you to learn, create, and connect through craft. Some additional custom offerings unique to Third season include hand dyed bespoke ribbon and linens, cut glass vessels made from Maxwells Trading empty wine bottles, and designed invites and menus. Sustainability and quality are priorities for our farm and design teams.

How We Stay Sustainable:

Design with sustainably grown, Chicago blooms during The Roof Crops growing season and whenever possible.

  • Redirect organic waste to be re-used as a natural dye, pressed botanical, dried for arrangements, or composted.

  • Avoid single-use packaging, packing materials and foam.

  • Educate customers and followers on topics of sustainability and solutions in the floral industry.

  • Encourage internal conversations to review and improve company-wide sustainability efforts.
