About maaterra
We introduced maaterra because we discovered a gap in the disposable tableware category between beautifully designed products and highly sustainable ones.
We launched with beautifully etched palm leaf plates that are 100% compostable because they are simply a leaf.
Our plates can be customized to showcase the couple's names, initials, or an image, making the plates a sophisticated and meaningful showpiece at the rehearsal dinner, wedding, and set-off brunch.
maaterra plates are also a terrific gift consideration for wedding parties and out-of-town guests. maaterra is a woman-owned, family-run business, elevating any occasion.
How We Stay Sustainable:
We see sustainability as an iterative process and are committed to always seeking the better solution.
We launched maaterra with 100% compostable palm leaf plates. They are etched with light and nothing else is added to them (no varnishes, lacquers, or inks). They are simply a leaf and so can be disposed of in a home or industrial compost. Our plates are Compost Manufacturing Alliance-certified.
We are in the process of adding Forest Stewardship Council-certified bamboo utensils, plant-based plastic cups, and 100% cotton napkins. All of our products are compostable.
We have partnered with 1% of the Planet since our inception.
We offset our carbon footprint through We Are Neutral.
